SHIVAMOGGA: I-T officials on Wednesday conducted raids on the District Central Cooperative (DCC) Bank branches and houses of bank chairman R M Manjunath Gowda.
Sources said more than 18 officials conducted the raids in four places, including the DCC Bank, Thirthahalli branch, Kodachadri Credit Cooperative Society at Thirthahalli and Manjunath Gowda’s residences in Karakuchchi in Thirthahalli taluk and Sharavati Nagar in Shivamogga city simultaneously.
The raids were conducted over the misappropriation of funds in the gold loan scam case in a city branch of the bank last year, transfer of money after demonitisation and transfer of a huge amount to an account of an influential minister when Manjunath Gowda joined the Congress.
