MYSURU: Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers H N Ananth Kumar on Sunday categorically stated that the forum meant for Kannada should not be used for promoting pseudo secularism and politics.
Kumar said there are many other platforms to discuss politics. “Kannada should be beyond politics as it’s not just a language but the matter of secularism, sentiment and also the conscience of 6.5 crore Kannadigas,” he added.

One should be cautious during such meets as the Kannadigas in other states will be looking for the messages that would emerge from the same, to strengthen the cause of language, he said.
He said the organisers should have given due respect to the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru as they were instrumental in establishing Kannada Sahitya Parishat. Scion of royal family Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and his mother Pramoda Devi Wadiyar should have been invited to flag off the procession from palace premises, he said.
