MYSURU: A female leopard, aged about 1, which ventured into a layout in Gohalli off Bogadi-Gaddige Road here, died after it was trapped inside a pipe by the public.On seeing the animal, people chased it into a discarded pipe and later put stones on either sides to block its exit. They later informed the forest officials. By the time, the officials opened the pipe, the leopard was dead. In the post-mortem, it was revealed that the leopard died of heart attack caused by trauma. However, residents alleged that the delay in the arrival of the forest staff resulted in the animal’s death. Forest officials, however, refuted the charges.
