THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Stating that the present staff pattern in hospitals was affecting their functioning, Health Minister K K Shylaja said on Thursday that the government was for revising the  pattern.

There should be enough staff in all the hospitals for their smooth functioning. Apart from doctors, there should also be other staff, she said.

Noting that criticism could be raised on the decisions taken by the government and in some issues there could be politics also, she said that despite all those, the government was of the belief that the people should get the benefits.  The minister said this while speaking at a seminar organised as part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations here.
