KOCHI: The special investigation team(SIT) probing the assault of a female actor on Wednesday recorded the statements of Madhu Warrier, brother of actor Manju Warrier. Madhu was summoned to the Aluva Police Club for the purpose. Besides, the statements of Dileep’s close relatives were recorded.
Dileep’s brother-in-law, who is a film producer and his business partner, appeared before the SIT around 11 am, sources close to the SIT said.


Appunni, manager of Dileep, had denied knowledge of the plot to attack the female actor during his six-hour-long questioning by  SIT the other day. Nonetheless, Appunni conceded he knew Pulsar Suni aka Sunil Kumar, the prime accused in the case, for several years and he had indeed spoken to the latter on the phone on Dileep’s behalf.  Meanwhile, cops arrested Raju Joseph, the junior of Pulsar Suni’s former counsel Pratheesh Chacko, for alleged destruction of evidence. He was later released on bail. Joseph was summoned to the Aluva Police Club around 4 pm.

Raju Joseph, who is the junior of Pratheesh Chacko - the former counsel of prime accused in the actor assault case Pulsar Suni - on Wednesday was arrested for alleged destruction of evidence. However,he was later released on bail.

Joseph was summoned to the Aluva Police Club around 4 pm. Earlier, police took his car into custody following reports he had destroyed the mobile phone and memory card used to capture objectionable pictures of the actress. Prior to this, Chacko, who had been on run to avoid police questioning, was also arrested before being enlarged on bail.
