Rain continues to affect pilgrims

SABARIMALA: Pilgrims continued to face sufferings owing to the unprecedented rain that lashed Sannidhanam, trekking path and Pampa on the successive day on Wednesday.The rain, which began at 11.30 am, continued till 3 pm, causing inconvenience to pilgrims for darshan, to climb the holy steps and on the trekking path.

The absence of adequate resting place for pilgrims at Sannidhanam imposed additional burden on pilgrims, especially the aged and the children, who stay back during the night for neyyabhishekam offerings.
On the queue path between Marakoottam and Saramkuthi and on Swami Ayyappan Road, the pilgrims faced hardships in climbing the trekking path.The pilgrims on the traditional forest trekking routes of Erumeli-Karimala and Sathram-Pulmedu suffered severe hardships in the absence of any shelters on the forest route.
