N A Karim Media Award for P S Ramshad

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: P S Ramshad, Senior Reporter with ‘Samakalika Malayalam Vaarika’, the sister publication of ‘The New Indian Express’ has been selected for the first Dr N A Karim Media Award.
M M Unnikrishnan of Kerala University’s Distance Education Department has won the award for the Best University Teacher.

The award, instituted by Dr N A Karim Foundation, comprises cash prize of Rs 15,000, a citation and a plaque.
Unnikrishnan was chosen for the award considering his 30 years’ service as a teacher and critic while Ramshad bagged the award for his reports on relevant social causes, published in the Malayalam Vaarika in 2016.
Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran will present the awards on February 4, the first death anniversary of N A Karim, at a function to be held at Thiruvananthapuram Press Club.
