THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A senior journalist working with a leading Malayalam TV news channel was arrested on Wednesday by the Pettah police for alleged sexual harassment of a female colleague.
The arrested is Amal Vishnudas, 40 employed as a senior editor. Meanwhile, the channel management has suspended him pending inquiry.
Amal had reneged on his promise to marry the 30-year-old victim, according to the complaint lodged by her with Deputy Commissioner of Police Arul R B Krishna on Tuesday. The accused was later produced before the Magistrate Court which remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days.
