THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government on Tuesday transferred Kozhikode city police commissioner J Jayanath to the headquarters as the superintendent of police.

Steel bombs were thrown at CPM committee office by unidentified men in the past week and the police are still clueless on tracing the culprits. Sources said this might have prompted the government to transfer him.

Jayanath will be replaced by S Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar, currently the superintendent of police in Railways. Subsequently, K K Jayamohan has been posted as the superintendent of police in Railways.
