KOCHI: Now here is another reason to take a ride on the Metro. To improve ridership as well as to attract more passengers, Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) is providing a promotional offer of 50 per cent discount on return journey tickets (RJT) for a limited period. The offer is valid from November 14 to December 23.
With this offer, commuters can avail of a free return trip at the cost of a single journey when they buy a Return Journey Ticket.

Based on this offer, commuters will get a ‘to & fro’ journey ticket at the price of a one-way ticket. The refund for unused tickets will be limited to one-way fare alone if no journey is undertaken.
The ticket is valid only for the same business day.  The offer is presently not applicable to Kochi1 card.

“To increase footfalls in the Metro, Kochi Metro Rail Limited has long-term plans such as the introduction of new fare products like monthly passes, student passes, weekend passes, daily passes and seasonal passes,” said KMRL managing director A P M Muhammed Hanish.

“With the introduction of these fare products, regular commuters and other travellers who frequently use the Metro system will get a reduction in the total fare through benefits and discounts attached to such fare products. Since the design and implementation of the fare products would take time, KMRL has decided to come out with this limited period offer for commuters,” Muhammed Hanish said.
