KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Thursday directed the state government to re-install barricade at the parallel road leading to the Paliyekkara toll plaza to avoid vehicles evading toll. It also asked to maintain a 1.5-metre wide opening so as to allow two-wheelers and autorickshaws- exempted from toll- to ply freely.
The Thrissur District Collector had directed the opening of the parallel road near Paliyekkara Toll Plaza, allowing vehicles to bypass the toll gate. The toll company Guruvayoor Infrastructure Private Ltd had approached the court challenging the Collector’s decision.
