CM: Edu firms should not be centres for minting money

THRISSUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said certain self-financing institutions in the state have failed to provide quality education, thereby affecting the higher education sector. 
At the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Government Engineering College here on Saturday, he said educational institutions should not be centres to mint money. It will affect the quality of the education sector, thereby affecting the students who come out of such institutions. Education should be based on merits and not on money power. Every institution should keep a common standard, he said. 
A master plan for the education sector has become vital nowadays, he said.
