THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Disaster Management Authority has warned of heavy rains until July 17. Though the intensity of the rains is coming down, people have been asked to take precautions.
the state lost 77 lives and 25 persons were injured in monsoon calamities. As many as 283 houses were fully destroyed and 7,213 houses were partially damaged. 7,751.6 hectares of agriculture were destroyed and 3,790 persons were rehabilitated.
37 rehabilitation camps were opened in the past few days. A total of 180 camps were operated in this season. They accommodated 30,549 persons. An average of Rs 50 lakh was sanctioned to every district collector.
