Ready for a spiri‘ted’ talk ?

KOCHI: A group of city-based students are organising TEDx Vazhuthacaud, a lecture series based on the theme ‘Age of the Unknown’. In the event scheduled to begin on August 26 lectures will be delivered by eight experts on their respective spheres of excellence.“It’s an independently organised TED event and the event will be held from 9 am to 6 pm,” says Merlin, one of the organisers.  


The main objective  of the event is to promote TED videos or introduce and popularise them among the local crowd, she adds. TED talks are basically an array of inspirations and thought-provoking speeches covering a wide spectrum of subjects.“Ours is an independent initiative and we called it TEDx Vazhuthacaud as the place is in the heart of the city and well-connected,” she adds.

  
The list of speakers includes T P Sreenivasan IFS, Soorya Krishnamoorthy, Rajamoorthy, Praveen Parameshwaran, Joby Mathew, Tiffany Brar, Dr Kamal Kiran and -Mr Benild Joseph. The maximum time allotted to each speech is 18 minutes. “We wanted people renowned in particular fields who are great speakers. You will find people representing various fields who will be delivering speeches on their areas,” she adds.     


Apart from inspirational speeches there will be entertainment programmes, refreshments, TEDx certificates, goody bags and special surprises for participants.  After the event the videos will be available in our official Youtube channel. The venue is Mar Cardinal Cleemis School of Management [B-HUB], Mar Ivanios Vidhya Nagar Thiruvananthapuram and the registraion starts at 8 am.
