HC grants CB more time to conduct probe

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Monday granted the Crime Branch time till January 10 to track down the remaining accused in the Mithila Mohan murder case.The Crime Branch submitted, third accused Mathivannan and fourth accused Uppali were yet to be arrested. The first accused Santhosh Kumar alias Kannan was arrested seven years after the incident. At the time of the detection of the case, the only person who knew the whereabouts of the absconding accused was Dindigal Pandyan. But, Pandyan died in an encounter. The probe team is fully confident the third and fourth accused could be arrested if more time is granted, the CB stated. Considering the submission, the court granted more time.
