A patient is in the consulting room and the therapist is sitting at a distance and moving her palms closer to the patient’s body without going close enough to touch it. He is trying to figure out something, that to a stander-by, may sound silly. The Reiki master is scanning the aura of the patient with his hands. His hands become so sensate to the vibrations when he begins scanning that he can immediately diagnose the problems a person has got.
If there are blocks in the root chakra or Muladhara or the energy centre at the base of the spine, the problems can be with the excretory and reproductive organs, bones, blood and high levels of fear and insecurity. Blocks in each energy centre can denote certain diseases.
Once the process of scanning is over, cleansing of the energy coated with disease and ill-health begins. The process of cleansing is so much like what we do with our fingers when we set our hair straight—combing, or with a broom stick as we clean a room, a gathering and sweeping motion with the hands and flicking and disposing it off into an electric violet mental fire or a bowl of rock salt in water.
Though for an outsider the whole process might seem like some mumbo jumbo, the Reiki master feels the movement of the diseased energies and what’s more, the patient and most times, the allopathy doctors treating those patients for chronic and emergency ailments feel the difference and change.
The mentally created electric fire is also mentally put off and the process of healing begins by placing the hands of the healer on the different energy centres beginning from the crown of the head, the forehead and the throat. From the heart, navel, surrounding the genital region and the base of the spine, where there are chakras, the healer places the hands at a distance away from the body. Once this is done, Reiki symbols are drawn in the space around the body, on every chakra and sealed again with certain symbols. ;— Swahilya Shambhavi (www.simplyspiritual.org)
