The hotel, located near the Kollam beach, was opened three months back and has made a mark of its own. It has become the most sought after venue for conferences and seminars, thanks to its elaborate facilities available with its convention centre.

All Ecotel certified hotels must pass a detailed inspection and satisfy stringent criteria set by environmental experts, says Sreekumar Kunnath, general manager of the hotel.
The hotel has a green team headed by an environment manager. The Beach Orchid has been regularly conducting various events and functions to create awareness about environment in Kollam among different segments of the society. The green team of the hotel conducts regular cleaning of the Kollam beach on every Friday.
The hotel, with 95 rooms, has been getting over 65 percent occupancy on a regular basis, says general manager Sreekumar Kunnath. The rooms - deluxe, premium, executive, royal suite and honeymoon suite- come with a tariff ranging from Rs 5,950 to Rs 18,950. The facilities are satellite TV, 24-hour room dining, electronic key cards, travel desk, energy saver systems, tea/coffee maker, fruit basket, doctor on call, mini bar, two swimming pools, curio shop, gymnasium, concierge service, spa and wellness club with trained doctors. All hotel floors are Wi-Fi enabled. Complementary buffet and breakfast are offered for all rooms.
The Black Gold Cafe offers cuisines that will inspire even the most discerning palates. The menu features world class national and international items in a la carte and in a large and scrumptious buffet. Marco Polo Bar is an absolute up market, classy and elegant bar with a stunning light house and beach view.
Special romantic escape packages are the specialty at the Beach Orchid. Special weekend packages include stay for two nights and three days for two persons, which includes breakfast and dinner. The package includes trip to Paravoor, elephant ride, kalari, visit to Kappil beach, cruising in luxury deluxe house boat, visit to Varkala and more. Other packages include trip to Thenmala, visit to famous waterfalls, boating in wildlife sanctuary, visit to leisure and adventure zone at Thenmala.
The hotel is planning to hold a barbeque fest from December 5 to 14 December, Sreekumar said. He said they hope to get the five-star certification for the hotel in the near future.
