Feng Shui with its very strong relations to the Five Elements with their own distinct energy needs to be understood in depth prior to even placement of any symbols or gadgets. To the uninitiated, the five elements look like a simple roundup of natural elements but it is more than that. To the Chinese the five elements represent the movement of CHI - the energy and its interaction with the other elements in specific ways. This interaction decides the balance of the Chi in nature, buildings and even with us. The Chinese link the heaven, earth and man through TAO, dividing all things into complementary dualities. The idea of balance is more sophisticated than symmetry. It aligns a home or person with the natural and man made elements creating a peaceful and harmonious flow within the home and us. Feng shui could be further classified as Outer fengshui, which relates to the environment, space and place of dwelling and Inner fengshui which relates to the individual, the food intake, dress, posture, facial expressions, skin tone, clearness of the eye, speech etc. Feng shui could be used to help a person “untangle” knots that block happiness and attainment of one’s goals and hopes.
Jewellery in Fengshui represents an excellent and harmonious combination due to the reason that it is a mixture of earth element (stones) and metal element (gold or silver etc), which is a generative cycle of elements. Wearing too much jewellery is also bad as it creates an imbalance. In the case of accessories like wallets and handbags, it is said that the shape and colour of the bag indicate good or bad energy. Bags, which are black, green or brown and rectangular, are good.
