Future mail is in the must-have list

The Future Mail option is displayed prominently on the left hand corner of the inbox in the in.com website.

At an age when almost everyone is guilty of forgetting birthdays and anniversaries (work pressures, you see) the concept of ‘future mails’ is very welcome. Imagine dashing off a mail and timing it — so it is sent at a later date. It will certainly impress the boss, who can be made to believe you’ve been working all night! Rishi Khiani, COO, Web18, has more to share about Future Mail and the website, In.com, launched less than three months ago. At 34, the fifth-generation entrepreneur is in charge of Web18 properties such as the vertical portals: ibnlive.com, cricketnext.com, indiwo.com, buzz18.com, josh18.com.

How does Future Mail work?

To access Future Mail, all you have to do is register yourself on In.com. The Future Mail option is displayed prominently on the left hand corner of the inbox. Hit the button, compose your vital mail and schedule it for the perfect date and time on which it’s to be sent. You can schedule mails up to five years in advance. Thus Future Mail can act as an important tool in your professional and personal life.

What gives In.com an edge over other sites?

Technology. Characterised by what is known as an ‘intelligent crawler’, In.com has a search engine that screens over 30,000 popular sites across the Web to capture the most happening news of the day. There are co-branded sites such as dostana.in.com and biggboss2. in.com. User behaviour is mapped and social networking is far more advanced here, allowing a cross-reference of tastes and habits. We are also accessible over WAP and mobile platforms.

How have users responded?

It’s far too early to gauge the response of Future Mail, but we are already ranked #2 among Indian portals by ComScore. Registrations on In.com crossed the two million mark by the end of October.
