Barely after four months into its launch, Hyundai has launched three new versions of the Eon, with more features at attractive prices. Ammar Alvi has more.

Hyundai’s new entry-level Eon hit the headlines four months ago. A good response has encouraged them to launch three new versions within the same price. Priced between Rs 2.69-3.71 lakh, it already had six trims. With the three new trims, buyers will find it easier to zero in on their choice.

The basic ‘D-Lite+’ comes with AC, power steering, gear shift indicator and body colour bumpers at Rs 2.98 lakh. The mid-range ‘Era +’ variant will additionally offer front power windows and central locking at Rs 3.12 lakh. Finally, the high-end ‘Magna+’ comes with a 2-DIN audio system with USB, Aux and other features at Rs 3.42 lakh, making it around Rs 30,000 cheaper than the Sportz variant. Says H W Park, MD & CEO, Hyundai, “The D-Lite+ offers a host of features for less than Rs 3 lakh. Era+ and Magna+ also offer extra value to our customers.”

Hyundai has also extended fuel options with LPG versions on all trims with a 32 litre petrol and a 34 litre LPG tank. The LPG models are all priced around Rs 27,000 higher, but long-term savings are a given, as the Eon runs over 1,200 km on a full tank of LPG and petrol. This should translate to more sales, and open up the competition.
