CHENNAI: A recent Microsoft convergence, the company’s marketing chief Chris Capossela has announced to pull the plug of the ageing Internet Explorer with a new browser codenamed “Project Spartan”.

The official name of the browser is not decided yet, but is set to be released along with Windows 10 by the end of this year.

However, Microsoft will not completely get rid of the browser and will co-exist for the time being for compatibility purposes with other operating systems like Windows Vista,  Windows 8, Windows 7.

The new browser is likely to have “Microsoft” in the name as Capossela hinted “"Just by putting the Microsoft name in front of it, the delta for Chrome users on appeal is incredibly high,".
