The stroke of a brush can create wonders.

And if it’s by someone for whom art is as close as his heartbeat, one need not say more! J Soundararajan is holding an exclusive pen and ink exhibition to woo the art lovers. Though he was in the art world for decades, it was only recently that he took up fulltime painting, his first love.

The exhibits include a mirage of images in pen and ink, pen and pencil, pen and watercolour and so on. Soundararajan, who has been painting for almost 40 years, never limits his creative freedom, and these exhibits are results of his salient imagination.

An alumnus of Government College of Arts, pen and ink are his favourite media, making the drawings sharp and aesthetic. Some of his drawings incite the creative soul; for instance, the drawing of a temple on top of a rocky mountain gives you philosophical undertones of a forlorn soul. Watching the sketch of a lonely tree amidst rocks somehow points to the painter himself, who is fighting against all odds.

The artist who holds similar exhibitions once in three months, has a special interest to draw fishes and birds.

He now finds joy in creating sketches on pen and watercolour. This new stylised drawing has many art enthusiasts.

J Soundararajan’s works are on display at Ambassador Pallava.
