Being timeless does not mean being stuck in the past; it means being ready to adapt to change and circumstances. Adarsh Gill, a seasoned fashion designer, is a fine example of that.

Not only her designs—she started designing in India in the 90s after a long stint in the US and France—but Gill herself keeps evolving too, effortlessly embracing the new. Last year, she made a big shift from her usual path, launching online label Defiance, to connect with the young generation which loves to shop in the digital space. The collection offered buyers short dresses, jackets, skirts, jumpsuits, blouses and evening gowns with geometric patterns and clean lines. The hues were a youthful red and indigo with hints of silver and gold.

Gill’s latest autumn/winter collection is for the young and the young at heart. Perfect for the festive and wedding season, the line is not for the faint-hearted. Launched last week at her home in New Delhi, the collection is truly for the bold and beautiful and includes leather dresses that can be teamed with brocade jackets, flowy dresses, silk skirts, tops with embroidery and lace. Gill, who has designed for A-listers like Jacqueline Kennedy and  Uma Thurman, also launched her new couture collection recently. Here, weavers fromVaranasi work their magic on saris carrying embroidered accents with Swarovski detailing. Glamour has never been more crystal clear.
