Unni Mukundan’s debut as a playback singer is already a hit. The single ‘Anuragam puthumazha polae’.. from his next movie Achayans has already garnered rave reviews, with even Mammootty applauding him for the performance.
Unni says the whole idea was unexpected. “It was Achayans director Kannan Thamarakulam’s idea that I croon for the movie. Music director Rateesh Vega too thought it was a good idea. I had insisted that the lyrics be simple. So, Rateesh and I sat down to pen the lyrics,” says Unni.
The actor says he was nervous about the response the song would generate. “I was apprehensive because this is the first look of Achayans. If it doesn’t do well, it might affect the movie,” he says.
Unni says the industry has given him a positive feedback. “Manju Warrier and Bhavana had called me.
Mammootty has said some good words. The response so far is positive,” says the actor.
