NEW DELHI: The BJP has given notice to discuss in Lok Sabha chief economic advisor Kaushik Basu’s reported remarks that there would be no big policy decisions before 2014.

Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi has given a notice on the subject.

“Joshi has given a notice demanding discussion on Basu’s statement. The BJP believes that there is a policy paralysis in the government and no important decisions are being taken,” said Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday.

In a related development, the BJP has fielded new MPs to initiate debates on its behalf in the Lok Sabha during the discussion on demand of grants.  Anurag Thakur will initiate the debate on demand for grants on Home Affairs, Sanjay Jaiswal on health, Nishikant Dubey on commerce and Lalji Tandon on urban development.
