Break silence on Batla case: BJP to PM

NEW DELHI: The BJP launched a fresh offensive against the UPA Government on Friday after Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid raked up the Batla House encounter case in the Uttar Pradesh election campaign.

The BJP on Friday reacted to the statement by demanding an explanation from the Prime Minister . “The Prime Minister must break his silence... He should make it clear today itself if his Home Minister is speaking the truth or his Law Minister,” said BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

Pointing at a rift within the govt, he said the issue of ‘terrorism was being communalised for votebank politics’. On Khurshid’s claim that the government was on the verge of ‘finalising a judicial probe into the encounter’ the BJP wanted to know how such matters were being made public before the elections.
