NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday declined to stay the trial of Nupur Talwar in connection with the murder of her daughter Aarushi and domestic servant Hemraj.
However, a Bench comprising Justice A K Patnaik and Justice K S Kehar issued notice to the CBI on her petition seeking a review of the order of the apex court on her prosecution.
The Bench directed the CBI to file its reply within a period of four weeks on Nupur’s review petition.
The apex court decided to hear Nupur’s review petition in the open court on March 15. Her husband Rajesh Talwar did not file any review petition.
Fourteen-year-old Aarushi was found dead at her Noida residence on the intervening night of May 15-16, 2008. The body of servant Hemraj was found the next day on the terrace.
