RPI attack on ‘Colors’ office

Express News Service

The office of Colors channel here was attacked by Republican Party of India (RPI) activists to protest against the participation of controversial cartoonist Aseem Trivedi’s in the reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss’.

The RPI had demanded the exclusion of Trivedi from the show on the grounds that by lampooning the Constitution he had indirectly insulted its author B R Ambedkar.

Claiming responsibility for the attack, RPI spokesman Mayur Borkar said: “RPI youth wing Mumbai president Ramesh Gaikwad along with 10 other party workers attacked the office of Colors by pelting stones to press our demand on eviction of Trivedi from ‘Bigg Boss’. This is a preview of what could happen on Saturday if the channel fails to evict Trivedi by Friday,” said Borkar.
