India returns Pakistan soldier’s body

India on Friday returned the body of a slain Pakistan soldier, with military honours. He was killed on Thursday in an encounter at Naushera sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan Army’s Major General Asfaq Nadeem on Friday informed his Indian counterpart Lt Gen Vinod Bhatia that a Pakistani soldier had strayed across the LoC  and requested him to return his body. An Indian Army patrol party spotted him, as they noticed a "suspicious movement" along the LoC.  “When the patrol party challenged the infiltrator, he opened fire, injuring two Indian soldiers. In the ensuring encounter, he was killed. We have recovered one AK-47 rifle and some other warlike stores from him,” an Army spokesperson said.
