City police on Wednesday arrested Dinesh Yadav, the owner of the bus in which the paramedical student was gangraped and assaulted here on December 16.

The police had registered a case against him on Tuesday, for submitting false documents for the registration of his buses. The accused reportedly submitted a false affidavit regarding his residential address for getting his bus registered with the Delhi state transport office. The police have booked him for cheating and giving false statement on oath or affirmation to public servant.

 While investigating the case, the police verified the address of the bus owner and found Yadav, a Delhi resident, as its owner. He had 10 other buses registered in his name. Further probe revealed that the address furnished at the time of registration was fake and he had never stayed at the address.
