Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmed today issued directions to handover a double murder case of two girls in Deogarh district to the Central Bureau of Investigation because the probe by police was not satisfactory.

The directions were issued at a high-level meeting, chaired by Ahmed and attended by Chief Secretary R S Sharma, DGP Rajeev Kumar and other senior officials, an official release said here.

Till the formality in handing over the case to the CBI is completed, the CID would carry on with its investigation, the Governor said.

The bodies of two girls had been found on May 26 under Jasidih police station in Deogarh district that sparked off vociferous protests by political leaders and social activists demanding arrests of the culprits.
