Students of JNU, DU go to the hustings

The students of Delhi University (DU) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) ‘peacefully’ exercised their rights in the students’ unions polls on Friday. Voting at DU began in 50 colleges in two phases. The first phase began at 8.30 am till 12.30 pm for students in morning classes, and the other from 3 pm to 7 pm for students of evening classes. Voting in JNU, however, started at 9.30 am and went on till 6 pm.

 Even though counting for DUSU elections will begin on Saturday, some colleges have already announced their results. The candidates of Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad claimed victory at Bhagini Nivedita College, Vivekananda Mahila College, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, Shyamaprasad Mukherjee College, Shivaji College and Rajdhani College and Shyamlal Anand (Evening), Sri Venkateswara College, Aurobindo College, Bhagat Singh College and Khalsa Dev Nagar College.

 The candidates of National Students’ Union of India claimed victory in North Campus colleges including Miranda House, Sri Ram College of Commerce, Ramjas College, Ram Lal Anand College, Motilal Nehru College, DAV College and Bhagini Nivedita College.
