MP Medical College Dean Kills Self

BHOPAL: The Dean of the state government-run Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College in Jabalpur allegedly committed suicide by setting himself ablaze at his official residence on Friday.  

According to police, D K Shakalye was alone at the house when he allegedly took the drastic step. He was staying in Jabalpur with his wife, who had gone out for a morning walk at the time of the incident. 

After pouring kerosene and setting himself ablaze, Shakalye reportedly came out of the house crying for help, following which his neighbours took him to the hospital. 

Jabalpur Superintendent of Police Harinaraynachari Mishra said the cause of the suicide was yet to be ascertained.
