UPSC Aspirants Clash with Police

NEW DELHI: A candle-march carried out by scores of UPSC aspirants turned violent in the late evening today when they had a clash with security personnel in Nehru Vihar area of North Delhi, police said.

Some police personnel were injured in the incident when protesters resorted to stone-pelting.

"Our three or four police personnel have been injured in the incident. Police are investigating the case," Delhi Police PRO Rajan Bhagat said.

Some students have been detained for the incident, he added.

There are reports of torching of some vehicles by the protesters.

"We are carrying out a silent candle march in favour of of our demands, but some police officials stopped us in the midway," said a protester.

Protesters are demanding scrapping of Civil Services Aptitude Test.
