Four members of a family were trapped under an avalanche in south Kashmir's Kulgam district Wednesday. Two of them were rescued, but two are still under the debris, police said.
Police said an avalanche rolled down a mountain side in Balsaran village in Danau Kandi Marg area Wednesday morning, burying a house with the four family members in it. Residents rescued two of the members.
"A rescue and relief team has rushed to the village. Reports are still awaited about the fate of the two people still trapped inside," a police officer told IANS.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Omar Abdullah tweeted.
