CHENNAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday undertook an aerial survey of rain-affected areas in Tamil Nadu and announced Rs.1,000 crore as interim assistance towards relief and rescue operations in Tamil Nadu. Already, the Centre had announced Rs.939.40 crore to the State.
The Prime Minister held discussions with Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at INS Adyar for about 20 minutes. Governor K Rosaiah was also present during the meeting.
