As the Narendra Modi-led NDA government is battling against an all out attack from the opposition over the Lalit Modi controversy, the Congress has thrown a fresh salvo at the Centre accusing it of editing the wikipedia page of former prime minister Jawahar Lal Nehru.
The opposition party alleged that the pages were altered from a central government IP address.
"Wikipedia pages of Jawaharlal Nehru and Motilal Nehru were altered. What is worse (is) it was done from a government Internet Protocol address and from National Informatics Centre," Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said.
He also demanded a response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the matter.
"Will the Prime Minister answer how were the Wikipedia pages of former prime minister and Congress leaders altered through a government IP address," Surjewala asked.
Nehru was an iconic leader of Congress and led the first government of Independent India.
