MUZAFFARNAGAR: Tension prevailed in Bhumadhya village in the district after the murder of a youth by miscreants of another community this evening, police said.
Four persons on bikes today opened fire on Satbir (25) killing him on spot in Miranpur area, police said.
Following the killing, irate locals pelted stones and damaged a police vehicle, police said.
Senior police officers and administrative officers have rushed to the spot and have brought situation under control, they said, adding, security has been tightened and extra police force has been deployed in the village.
