BADAUN (UP): A man convicted in a murder case died at the district hospital after complaining of abdominal pain, triggering protests by his family members who demanded an inquiry into his death.

Jail Superintendent Arvind Pandey said today that Wajid Khan (62) along with his son and three others were sent to jail on September 23 after being sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder case.

He said last evening Wajid complained of pain in his abdomen and after which he was taken to jail hospital and then to the district hospital.

Pandey said Wajid died at the district hospital during treatment. Meanwhile, demanding an independent inquiry into Wajid's death his family members created a ruckus.
