PULWAMA: Security forces shot dead a militant in a brief encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama District late on Tuesday.
Three militants opened fire at security personnel who were combing Kawani village, forcing them to retaliate.
While one of the militants, identified as an operative of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), was gunned down, two others managed to escape.

Security personnel recovered two hand grenades from the possession of the deceased.
An extensive search operation is being carried out in the area to nab the militants.
