PM Modi Arrives in New York

NEW YORK: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived here today after a successful visit to Ireland.

Prime Minister Modi, who landed at the John F. Kennedy International Airport here, headed straight to the iconic Waldorf Astoria Hotel where he would be staying during the New York leg of his visit to the United States.

During his stay in New York, Prime Minister Modi is also likely to call on the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

Prime Minister Modi will also be meeting heads and representatives of the Fortune 500 companies.  He is expected to push for investments under the ‘Make in India’ programme during these meetings.

In his second visit to the United States, he is also scheduled to hold a number of bilateral meetings with world leaders, including US President Barack Obama, on the sidelines of the UNGA.
