Heat Wave Continues in Vidarbha

NAGPUR: Heat wave continued in Vidarbha of Maharashtra as maximum temperatures remained at around 44 degrees Celsius in several parts of the region.

With maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius, Chandrapur remained the hottest in the region for the second consecutive day. The city had yesterday recorded a high of 44.8 degrees Celsius.

Nagpur recorded a maximum temperature of 44.2 degrees Celsius, slightly lower than yesterday's 44.6 degree Celsius, Regional Meteorology Centre said.

Akola recorded a maximum of 44.2 degrees Celsius, while in Amravati and Bramhapuri the mercury was at 41.4 and 44.2 degrees Celsius respectively.

Temperatures in Gondia, Washim, Wardha and Yavatmal were recorded at 41.6, 42.2, 44.1 and 43.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

People preferred to remain indoors on a Sunday due to the sweltering heat.
