Lashkar-e-Taiba over-ground worker arrested in Jammu and Kashmir

The worker was identified as Altaf Sheikh, who was allegedly a close confidante of Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists operating in Qaimoh belt of Kulgam district.

HANDWARA: The security forces in a joint operation arrested one Over-Ground Worker (OGW) affiliated to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Handwara of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

Two hideouts were busted and a huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from their possession.

On November 29, an OGW surrendered before the Army in South Kashmir.

The worker was identified as Altaf Sheikh, who was allegedly a close confidante of Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists operating in Qaimoh belt of Kulgam district.

On November 28, three OGWs were arrested by 9 Rashtriya Rifles from Kulgam's Devsar area. Two grenades, a cheque of Rs 55,000 and Rs 12,000 cash were recovered from their possession.
