Bihar MP Pappu Yadav offers bounty on killer’s head

PATNA: Controversial Bihar MP Pappu Yadav on Monday raised the hackles of the state police and caused outrage among political parties by announcing that he would pay Rs 5 lakh to whoever kills the murderer of a trader in Vaishali district.

Yadav, whose official name is Rajesh Ranjan, made the inflammatory remark during a visit to the house of the murder victim in Mahnar. The MP from Madhepura, had shocked many in Bihar by making a similar announcement at Mokama in Patna district on November 24.

“I am saying here that I will pay Rs 5 lakh to anyone who finds out this criminal and kills him. I will make the payment by cheque. If I say I will kill, the TV people will show reports that Pappu Yadav is saying he will kill,” said Yadav.
