NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court today dismissed a plea seeking review of its earlier order rejecting a petition for a direction that reservation on the basis of caste, sex, religion and financial status be removed from the Constitution.

A bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar observed that there was no ground to review its March 20 order by which it had rejected the plea filed by a chartered accountant who had claimed that reservation was against the mandate given by the Constitution.

"Having carefully gone through the petitions for review, we do not find any ground to review the orders impugned.

The review petitions are, accordingly, dismissed," the bench, also comprising Justices D Y Chandrachud and S K Kaul, said.
