NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday grilled Altaf Ahmed Shah, son-in-law of hardliner Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani in connection with terror funding case.
Shah, popularly known as Altaf Fantoosh, was questioned by agency sleuths about the alleged funding of the Geelani-led Tehrek-e-Hurriyat by Pakistani agencies and entities, official sources said. Shah’s questioning comes after the agency raided his residence in Srinagar recently and recovered relevant materials during the searches.

The agency has roped in domain experts like Computer Emergency Response Team-India (CERT-IN) to analyse around 100 mobile phones, nearly 200 pen drives and memory sticks seized during the searches. Besides analysing the electronic devices, the CERT-IN will also seek to retrieve data deleted from these gadgets.
