KOLKATA: A fire broke out in a vehicle at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International airport here today, officials at the airport said.

The vehicle was used for storing excess kerosene of an airline company.

Airports Authority of India's (AAI) fire fighting personnel rushed to the area immediately and extinguished the fire, the officials said.

The vehicle was standing near the maintenance area of a private airline under new apron control, an AAI statement said.

It appeared that the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the engine of the vehicle, the statement said.
