CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Police has booked IPS officer Inderbir Singh in a case of matrimonial dispute following a complaint by his wife Amandeep Kaur. The case was registered after Kaur accused Inderbir and her in-laws of beating her up at their home in Garden Avenue.

A cross complaint was also registered in this connection.

Jalandhar Commissioner Parveen Sinha confirmed that the 2007 batch IPS officer was booked. Currently, Inderbir Singh is posted as AIG (Policy and Rules) at the police headquarters in Chandigarh. He is not new to controversies. Last year, Punjab CM Amarinder Singh had ordered a vigilance bureau inquiry against the officer following a bribe complaint against him by two farmers.
