SRINAGAR: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has refuted the reports about the resignation of party Vice-President Mohammad Sartaj Madani.

Reacting to reports on social media, PDP chief spokesperson Rafi Ahmad Mir strongly refuted the rumours of Mr Madani's resignation from the party.

However, Mr Mir remained silent over open revolt by four Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA) and a Council member against the party, alleging that party president Mehbooba Mufti was surrounded by some persons who are misguiding her.

However, former chief Minister and National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah questioned the rebel PDP MLAs for remaining silent during their government's tenure and raising their voice now when PDP is out of power.

Ms Mufti resigned last month as Chief Minister after its alliance partner BJP pulled out from the government after about three and half years, alleging she ignored Jammu and Ladakh regions in the development.
