MUMBAI: While stressing that the local students be given first priority in National-eligibility-cum Entrance Test (NEET) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Wednesday warned the authorities that they will have to face the wrath if they don't abide by rules that give priority to local students.

"Why local students don't get priority though there are so many medical colleges in Maharashtra? Why the students and the parents have to run from pillar to post for admissions every year? Government inaction is at the root cause of the issue. If needed the government should formulate rules to protect the interests of local students," Thackeray said as he addressed a press conference in Pune before proceeding to Marathwada on Wednesday.

Thackeray also hit out at the BJP over the Ram temple issue. The governments have done nothing in past four years and hence they are raking up emotive issues like these, he said.
